The average age of the vines is over 70 years.
Brilliant ruby red with garnet nuances. Perfume of wild berries, pomegranate, plums and herbaceous notes reminiscent of the macchia mediterranea (Mediterranean bushes). The seductive progression of perfume introduces elegant notes of leather and tobacco. It is warm, soft and enveloping to the palate. A perfect balance between acidity and tannins.
It pairs well with strong-flavored Italian salami, pasta dishes with flavorful tomato sauces, red meat roasts and game. Is excellent with lamb, the typical 'porceddu' sardo (suckling pig on a spit Sardinian-style), Fiore sardo (kind of Sardinian cheese) and other local aged pecorino cheese.
The old vines are cultivated cultivated on sandy soil very close to the water with the alberello (small tree) style, which here means less than a foot and a half tall. Each vine produces just one bunch per year. The result is a truly superior strong wine which is sure to please the connoisseur looking for a honest, fruity, palatable wine.
Open at least two hours before serving at 18°-20°C (64.4°-68°F).

Brilliant red color with purple tones, perfume intense and persistent with vegetable and spicy notes. Mellow flavor, pleasantly fresh and elegant and good tannin balance. It pairs well with lean hors d’oeuvres, goat and medium-aged sheep cheese, Sardinian-style pasta, white and roasted meats. |

One-of-a-kind, golden yellow wine, with perfume of flowers and intense honey, almond and dried fruit notes. To the palate it is sweet and harmonic, elegant, mellow and seductive, pleasantly persistent and gratifying. It may be drunk as meditation wine, but pairs magnificently with Sardinian pastry, amaretto cookies, desserts and herb-flavored cheeses.
At Verona's 38th Vinitaly this wine was awarded the Gran Menzione award. |
